August 25 + 26

A great weekend event for those interested in science, fashion, plants and/or the generally crafty! This workshop is in introduction to the rich and exciting world of natural dyes. We will learn how dye material can be found everywhere - from our kitchens, our gardens and around the globe. Participants will create a rainbow of colours through mordanting, dying, over dying and using modifiers. Along the way there will be opportunities to chat about the history and science of natural dying.

Students will walk away with a sample book of linen, silk and wool that includes recipes and technical information.
